Claude Sonnet 5 Is Now the Default on Filot

Anthropic's Claude Sonnet 5 is now the default model powering every Filot workflow — stronger reasoning, better tool use, and improved performance on long-running financial modeling tasks.

Today we're rolling Claude Sonnet 5 out as the default model across Filot. Every workflow, every user, every organization — upgraded automatically.

Stronger Where It Counts

Sonnet 5 is a meaningful step up from Sonnet 4.6 on the tasks that define financial modeling: multi-step reasoning, long-running builds, and precise instruction adherence. In our internal spreadsheet benchmarks, Sonnet 5 scores higher than Opus 4.8 on many of the tasks we evaluate — with lower latency and lighter usage consumption. It's the best balance of speed and performance we've tested.

The improvement is most visible on complex deliverables — three-statement models with full quarterly detail, cross-statement linking, and projection logic — where errors early in a build compound through everything downstream. The model is more reliable on sustained, multi-hour tasks, maintaining consistency across hundreds of steps where previous models would drift.

No Action Required

Sonnet 5 is now the default for all users. Your workflows, style guides, and team configurations continue to work exactly as before. MAX mode remains available with its current configuration per your organization's settings (Opus 4.8 or Fable 5).

"We ship model upgrades when they make the output better for our users. Sonnet 5 scores higher than Opus 4.8 on many of our internal benchmarks, with lower latency and lighter usage. That's a straightforward decision." — Giovanni Birkelund, Co-Founder & CTO of Filot
